Chad Hatfield was born and raised in Central Washington.  He graduated from Brigham Young University as a member of the National Honors Society with degrees in English, Russian, and Business Management.  He graduated from one of the nation's leading law schools at The University of Texas at Austin. 

Mr. Hatfield first got introduced to the practice of social security disability in 2000 while writing federal court briefs for claimants who were denied at their hearings.  Mr. Hatfield’s outlook and perspective were significantly impacted by his son’s honorable life dealing with severe disabilities.  He has dedicated his entire practice of the law to Social Security Disability and SSI.  He has represented over 1,000 individuals at social security hearings. 

Mr. Hatfield is involved in educating the community about people dealing with disabilities and about programs helping those with disabilities return to work and volunteering opportunities.  He is also actively involved in his church, the boy scouting and cub scouting program, and is a Make a Wish volunteer.  He is currently heading a committee to form the first inclusive playground in Central and Eastern Washington. An inclusive playground allows children of all abilities, including those with significant physical, mental, and sensory disabilities, to play together. 

Mr. Hatfield is also a sustaining member of NOSSCR (National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives) and the Washington State Bar, with admittance to practice in the Eastern and Western U.S. Federal District Courts. 

In 2023, Mr. Hatfield had a published 9th Circuit case, which is now precedential law for social security cases.
